The аÄÃÅÁùºÏ¸ßÊÖÂÛ̳ announced they have activated quarterback Tua Tagovailoa off the injured reserve list and released quarterback Tim Boyle. The team also elevated defensive tackle Neil Farrell and long snapper Matt Overton to the active roster for Sunday's game.

Tagovailoa*,* a first-round selection (fifth overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft, is in his fifth season with the Dolphins. He has played in 54 games with 53 starts, completing 1,136-of-1,700 passes (66.8 pct) for 13,122 yards and 83 touchdowns along with 140 carries for 409 yards and six rushing touchdowns. A Pro Bowl selection in 2023, Tagovailoa became the first Dolphins player since Dan Marino in 1992 to lead the league in passing with 4,624 yards and the second to throw for more than 4,500 yards in a season. He finished fifth in passer rating (101.1), tied for fifth in passing touchdowns (29) and second in yards per attempt (8.3). He also posted a 69.3 completion percentage in 2023, the best mark in team history in a single season. Tagovailoa is a three-time team captain (2022-24), and he played collegiately at the University of Alabama.

Boyle has appeared in 22 career games with five starts with Green Bay (2019-20), Detroit (2021), Chicago (2022), the N.Y. Jets (2023) and Miami (2024). He appeared in Miami's Week 3 and Week 7 contests at Seattle and Indianapolis this season as a reserve quarterback, completing 15-of-26 passes (57.7 pct.) for 153 yards. Boyle has completed 129-of-206 passes (61.7 pct.) for 1,087 yards with four touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his career. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay in 2018. Boyle finished his collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky, where he started all 11 games in 2017 and completed 201-of-327 passes for 2,134 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He transferred to EKU in 2016 from the University of Connecticut, where he played three seasons (2013-15).

Farrell has appeared in 12 career games with Las Vegas (2022) and Kansas City (2023). He's recorded 13 tackles (four solo), one pass defensed and two tackles for loss. He originally entered the league as a fourth-round selection (126th overall) by Las Vegas in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU (2017-2021), where he appeared in 52 career games with 21 starts and recorded 144 tackles (55 solo), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and five passes defensed.

Overton has appeared in 140 career games in 10 seasons with Indianapolis (2012-16), Jacksonville (2017-18), Tennessee (2020), L.A. Chargers (2021), Dallas (2022) and Miami (2024), totaling 17 special teams tackles (nine solo). He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2013 and has played in nine postseason games with Indianapolis (2012-14), Tennessee (2020) and Dallas (2022). Overton appeared in Miami's Week 7 contest at Indianapolis. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2007 with Seattle, where he spent training camp. Overton spent time with the Tri-Cities Fever (2008) of the National Indoor Football League, as well as with the Florida Tuskers (2009) and Omaha Nighthawks (2010) of the United Football League. Overton played collegiately at Western Washington (2005-06), where he was a team captain and a two-year starter at defensive end and long snapper. He attended Diablo Valley College (2003-04) before transferring to Western Washington.
