Operating as an estate agent in ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ

You are required to comply with the requirements of the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵn legislation covering the activities of estate agents. These cover:

• Trust accounts
• Property management
• Advertising and representation
• Understanding underquoting
• Authorities, commissions and contracts
• Office management and staffing
• Professional conduct
• Complaint handling and dispute resolution

Additional requirements under mutual recognition and automatic mutual recognition

• You can only undertake activities that you are allowed to perform under your licence or registration in your home state or territory.
• If ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵn Law permits a wider range of Estate Agent activities than your home state or territory, you are only able to perform the activities in ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ that you are permitted to in your home state or territory.
• If your home state or territory permits you to undertake an activity that ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵn laws do not permit, you can not undertake that activity in ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ under AMR or Mutual Recognition.
• While undertaking an activity as an Estate Agent in ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ, you are subject to ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵn legislation and disciplinary arrangements.
• Suspension or cancellation of your ability to work in ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ will also result in your registration or licence in your home state being suspended or cancelled.
